iTaxi nominated for the “Best Use of GPS or Location Technology” in the 17th Annual Webby Awards prepares, itself to release their taxi driver e-hail application in six major U.S. cities (New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston, Miami and Las Vegas). The totally unfunded, local New York City development company currently has 500+ New York City yellow cab drivers and will begin with beta testing in Gotham early next week. iTaxi’s founders say they will not begin testing in the other cities, until they have enough drivers to facilitate the needs of passengers. iTaxi will begin the process of moving into the ever-so controversial New York City e-Hail pilot program as the only unfunded app. iTaxi will also enter the program as the only free e-Hail app in the race, giving them a huge potential over the competition.
iTaxi connects passengers directly to taxi drivers. iTaxi’s driver application connects directly with passengers and allows drivers to receive push notifications of the location of their closest passenger. With the TAP of a button, passengers can instantly connect with a nearby taxi.
“With the TAP of a button, both passenger and driver needs will be met faster than ever. Say good-bye to the traditional methods of hailing a yellow cab or calling a dispatcher - iTaxi will render such primitive behavior obsolete,” says Mike Krisher, CEO and Founder of iTaxi. “Our software allows drivers and passengers to connect directly for zero costs to drivers and a small fee for passengers starting at month six."
iTaxi’s proprietary technology allows passengers and drivers with mobile devices to communicate with one another in real time. Drivers can see passenger’s available in real time and don’t have to drive around wasting time and money.
“Another exciting option that iTaxi will offer is the ability to view live local traffic in major metropolitan areas across the United States using iTaxi’s live DOT traffic feeds – just TAP,” said Krisher. “Imagine no more traffic surprises! Our platform will allow drivers to maximize their potential while on duty.”
The iTaxi Driver app is launching in New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston, Miami and Las Vegas and plans to expand to other US cities within the next 12 months. For more information visit us at http://www.itaxi.ws.
