New Atlanta Falcons Stadium has Two Different Proposals to Choose from but Should be Ready by 2017 Season

Atlanta’s new stadium plans have been the talk of the town for quite some time, but now there is something new to talk about. Once you see the pictures below you will see why everyone is so excited. According to the official report and other information coming out about the new stadium and the rumors that it is going to be as good, if not better than the Cowboys Stadium, the 2017 NFL season cannot get here fast enough.

The Atlanta Falcons team reached a deal with the city of Atlanta in March for the financing of the $1 billion stadium. So what does $1 billion get you, how about seats that vibrate after a big hit, or a 100-hundred yard bar, not to mention one of the most unique retractable roofs ever.

They call the style of roof on the first proposal an “Oculus” and, as you can see in one of the pictures below, it looks like a starfish laying on a regular stadium. The Roman Pantheon was the inspiration for the massive skylight in the middle of the roof and subsequently the name.

The second proposal looks like a giant airplane hangar, although the designers must have had a greenhouse in mind because they named it The Solarium. This style of stadium as a more conventional retractable roof that appears to be pulled off by the sides.

Some other creature comforts that the new stadium is suppose to feature are a 360 degree video board that rings the entire circumference of the stadium, a fantasy football lounge which is described as an area stocked with TVs and streaming stats so you can keep up with your fantasy team’s progress.

Hopefully the 2017 season will be here before we know it, but for now the new stadium will just have to dance around in our dreams.
