Alif Sankey, a dancer who worked with Michael Jackson says she had voiced concerns of the pop star’s health while they were planning his series of comeback tours.
The dancer/choreographer told the jury that was hearing a lawsuit filed by Jackson’s mother that the singer seemed thin and unprepared for the rigors of the shows in his “This Is It” tour.
She testified she wrote an email to tour director Kenny Ortega in an attempt to help Jackson. In the email, sent a month before his death in June 2009, Sankey pleaded with Ortega to try to improve the singer’s health and spirits.
The email was never responded to.
She is currently testifying in a negligent hiring trial by Jackson’s mother against concert promoter AEG Live LLC.
Alif Sankey had worked with Michael Jackson ever since the 1987 music video for “Smooth Criminal” and was to be an associate producer on his “This Is It” tour.
