Consol Energy (NYSE: CNX) rose 42 cents, or 0.9 percent, to $46.85.
Massey Energy (NYSE: MEE) rose $1.02 or 3.3 percent, to $32.14.
Peabody Energy (NYSE: BTU) rose 39 cents, or 0.9 percent, to $42.82.
