The #3 Florida Gators (25-3) rebounded from their Saturday loss to Vanderbilt and easily handled the South Carolina Gamecocks (13-13) 63-49. Al Horford put on a dominant performance with 20 points, 9 rebounds and 5 blocked shots while Joakim Noah added 6 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks of his own.
The Gators started off slow but by the middle of the first half they started to put things together and their defense began to clamp down. They went into the locker room with a 30-13 advantage and were able to cruise the rest of the way.
South Carolina got as close as nine with about five minutes left in the game but the Gators pounded the ball down low and used their big men to build the lead back to 14 with less than two minutes in the game.
With the victory the Florid Gators improved to 12-1 in conference play and clinched the SEC East title. The win keeps them in position to grab a number one seed come NCAA Tournament time. South Carolina fell to 3-10 in the conference.
