TheV.tv Unveiled for NBA All Star Week in Vegas;
Behind-The-Scenes Action To Highlight New Site’s Opening Days
As a precursor to a fully digital, 24-hour high-definition cable network coming this summer, theV.tv website launches Friday, February 16, in time for NBA All Star Weekend in Las Vegas. The new site, Vegas Entertainment Network’s official site for everything Vegas, will feature up-to-the minute content of happenings in Las Vegas over the weekend, as well as all-original content, many uploading opportunities, contests, prizes and all programming elements in on-line flash video.
TheV.tv is hosted by the flagship attraction, The V Babes --three hip, attractive women who deliver news and entertaining information about Las Vegas in their native dialects; English, Spanish, and Mandarin/Cantonese.
They will be on-site in Las Vegas for the weekend, reporting from various sites including the red carpet at TNT’s Kenny Smith’s All-Star Celebrity Poker Challenge hosted by LeBron James. Also, “Granny V”, 72-year-old Jenny Hughes, will provide local color and interviews from the NBA’s Habitat for Humanity home build, TNT’s NBA set and the T-Mobile Rookie Challenge. Renowned Vegas entertainers Zowie Bowie (zowiebowie.com) will guide visitors through theV.tv throughout the launch weekend. They will remain as the continuing ambassadors of theV.tv and later, Vegas Entertainment Network. Other ongoing sections include:
· R U Vegas?: Mr. Las Vegas Wayne Newton is host to this attraction where visitors can upload their videos to theV.tv in this national and international talent search. Grand prizes will include trips to Las Vegas, a chance to be in a Las Vegas show, and even the opportunity to become a Vegas stage star.
· V’s Best of: Hosted by Frank Marino (frankmarino.com), world famous female impersonator and “Queen of the Las Vegas Strip”, will lead visitors to theV.tv toward the top restaurants, shows, shopping and other things to do in Las Vegas.
· Vegas Confidential: Vegas Insider and nationally-renowned Las Vegas Review-Journal gossip columnist Norm Clarke will have a regular column on the site, as well as breaking news, behind-the-scenes information and up-to-the-minute happenings in the city that never truly sleeps.
· Outrageous Vegas: Coming soon, Ira Dean, bass player for the contemporary country group Trick Pony, invites users of theV.tv to upload their videos from trips to Vegas, and to tell outrageous experiences and fun stories that happen in Sin City. Other soon-to-be launched sections:
· Luck : A music-driven soap opera about a beautiful girl who escapes to Las Vegas under mysterious circumstances. The show will be delivered daily in 1-3 minute segments on theV.tv.
· Vegas Odds: A destination point for anyone interested in the latest odds and up-to-the-minute spreads on sports events, as provided by the MGM Grand Sports Book.
TheV.tv will be joined this summer by the Vegas Entertainment Network , a new, 24-hour network loaded with 20-plus original hours of HD-delivered, scripted series, reality shows and elements tied fully to the city of Las Vegas. Programming elements and short segments of the new “V” television network will be presented on the site as the launch of the network moves closer.
TheV.tv and Vegas Entertainment Network are owned and operated by Horse Head Entertainment, Inc, with new offices and soon-to-be studios in Las Vegas.
