Andre Agassi Admits Crystal Meth Addiction in New Memoir

Tennis star Andre Agassi has revealed he began regularly using crystal meth in the late 90s. Agassi, 39, makes the shocking revelation in his new memoir, Open.

According to the London Times, Agassi’s assistant ‘Slim’ introduced him to the drug. “I snort some. I ease back on the couch and consider the Rubicon I’ve just crossed,” Agassi writes of the first time he used. “There is a moment of regret, followed by vast sadness. Then comes a tidal wave of euphoria that sweeps away every negative thought in my head. I’ve never felt so alive, so hopeful — and I’ve never felt such energy.”

He also discusses his troubled marriage to supermodel Brooke Shields and his current marriage to Steffi Graf.

Open hits bookstores on November 9.
