Boston Celtics Legend, Dennis Johnson Dead at 52.

Dennis Johnson, the quite point man that led the Boston Celtics to two NBA Championships in the ‘80’s has died. Johnson collapsed while playing in a pick-up game while coaching the Austin Toros of the NBA Developmental League. An autopsy is scheduled to be performed to determine the cause of death. Johnson was 52-years-old.

Proving himself to be a capable scorer in his own right, Dennis Johnson led the Seattle Supersonics to an NBA Championship in 1979. Johnson was named the series MVP after averaging 22.6 points and 6 rebounds per game in the five-game series against the Washington Bullets.

Johnson finished his 14-year career with 15,535 points and played in five NBA All-Star Games. His tenacious defense earned him All-Defensive First Team on six occasions.
