With just two months to go before the birth of her first child, Kim Kardashian admits she is “nervous and anxious” to become a mother. In a Mother’s Day blog post, Kardashian says she looks to her mom Kris Jenner and older sister Kourtney Kardashian as good role models. She writes:
“Mother’s Day is one of my favorite holidays because it’s a special day to honor my role model and best friend. As I’m counting the days until I finally get to be a mother, I’m a bit nervous and anxious but also excited knowing that I learned from the very best. My mom is a strong and ambitious career woman that despite her busy schedule and the millions of things she has going on, she still manages to put family first and continues to look out for us every day. Motherhood is a gift and I know after watching my mom do it, it’s not easy especially when trying to balance a career. I’m honored to follow in her footsteps and make her proud like I am of her.
Kourtney, my sister, best friend, and mentor has also taught me so much about motherhood from being the most incredible mom to Mason and Penelope. She is super woman with her ability to effortlessly balance work with taking care of two amazing kids and I am so lucky to have her as my guide and confidant as I too become a mother.
And also my wonderful grandma MJ, such a strong and inspirational woman in my life! I love you so much!

Kardashian is due to give birth in July. The baby will be her first child with her boyfriend Kanye West. West announced the pregnancy at an Atlantic City concert in late December. After singing "and now she's having my baby,” the rapper encouraged the crowd of 5,000 to “make some noise for my baby mama.”
“It’s true!! Kanye and I are expecting a baby. We feel so blessed and lucky and wish that in addition to both of our families, his mom and my dad could be here to celebrate this special time with us. Looking forward to great new beginnings in 2013 and to starting a family. Happy New Year!!! Xo,” Kardashian later wrote in a blog post.
