South African Stadium Robbed After Justin Bieber Concert

South African authorities say thieves made off with hundreds of thousands of dollars from the Soccer City stadium in Johannesburg Sunday night following Justin Bieber’s concert. Gauteng police spokesman Lt. Col. Katlego Mogale said the money was from concession stands at Bieber’s concert and Bon Jovi’s concert the previous night. The exact amount stolen remains unclear.

"The intruders broke through the roof of the bathroom nearby and there is evidence that they gained entry by abseiling down to gain access to the strong room," Mogale said.

The head of Stadium Management SA, which operates the Soccer City, said the robbery occurred around 2 a.m. Employees discovered it later Monday morning.

Bieber tweeted about his sold out show on Sunday night. "That was a show! 95000 strong! #SoldOutStadium . Thank u Johannesburg!" he wrote.

"Great way to end this leg of the tour,” Bieber added. “Excited to chill for a bit but I will announce Australia, Asia, and S America real soon.”
