Jason Kidd recorded his 84th career triple-double to lead the New Jersey Nets (26-30) past the Sacramento Kings (23-31) 109-96. Kidd finished with 22 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists while Vince Carter ended the night with 26 points and 11 rebounds.
The first quarter provided little action as both teams combined for 30 points but the second quarter proved to be a little more exciting as the offense picked up. The Nets turned their 19-11 first quarter lead into an 18 point advantage at half and had the game firmly in hand.
For Kidd, the triple-double was his ninth of the season and perhaps his most impressive. The NBA-All-Star is playing with a cracked rib and wearing a vest to protect the injury.
Eddie House scored 20 points and Marcus Williams finished with 19 points balancing the attack for the Nets.
Ron Artest led the Kings with 33 points and 7 assists.
