Donald Trump Declares Trace Adkins Winner Of All Star Celebrity Apprentice

The second time was the charm for Trace Adkins on Celebrity Apprentice. The country singer, who lost the reality show competition to Piers Morgan in 2008, was “hired” by Donald Trump on the All-Star season finale Sunday night. Illusionist Penn Jillette was the runner up.

The final challenge involved Adkins and Jillette facing off in an ice cream duel. Both men had to create their own Walgreens Delish ice cream flavor and promote the product with a video and a VIP launch party. While Jillette’s Magic Swurtle actually out sold Adkins’ Maple Macadamia Mash-up, Adkins raised more money than Jillette. Adkins raised $564,000 to Jillette’s $503,655.

“The winner of All-Star Celebrity Apprentice is … the very great … Trace Adkins,” Trump announced.

"Trace is a star all the way and now joins Piers Morgan, Joan Rivers, Bret Michaels, John Rich and Arsenio Hall as winners of the toughest reality show on television today," he added. "I'd also like to salute Penn, who was also a very impressive player."

Adkins was awarded an extra $250,000 to give to his charity, the American Red Cross.

"Sometimes in life, we begin a task wondering if it's the right thing to do," Adkins said. "Tonight, I can proudly say that competing on the show a second time ended up being a very good thing. I was honored to play for the American Red Cross – they came to my family's aid when we needed them, and I am a man who repays my debts,” Adkins said after his win.

Lil Jon was crowned the fan favorite and was given $100,000 for his charity, the American Diabetes Association.
