On October 13, 2009, Aecon Group announced that the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the company was appointed to David Smales. Smales will begin working with Aecon on November 16, leaving behind his Vice Presidency and CFO position at Catalyst Paper Corporation (TSX:CTL). He is succeeding Scott Balfour, who will be focusing his attention to his duties as president.
