The #4 UCLA Bruins (25-3) used a second half burst to blow past the Stanford Cardinals (13-10) 75-61, and capped a perfect 16-0 record at Pauley Pavilion this year. It was a 12-4 run that pushed the Bruins lead from three to eleven midway through the second half. From there it was just a matter of solid defense and taking care of the ball.
Junior guard Arron Afflalo scored 20 points in what may have been his final home game in a Bruins uniform. Many expect the UCLA leader to enter the upcoming NBA Draft. Luc Richard Mbah a Moute added 11 points and 7 rebounds for the Bruins.
The Bruins hit 56 percent of their three-point attempts.
Brook Lopez led the Cardinals with 23 points and 9 rebounds in the loss. Stanford was playing without guard Anthony Goods who is sidelined with a high ankle sprain. Without Goods in the lineup Stanford struggled to control the ball, committing 16 turnovers in the game.
UCLA moved to 14-2 in the Pac-10 and are guaranteed at least a share of the title. The loss dropped Stanford to 9-7 in the conference.
