Time Warner Inc. (NYSE: TWX) on Thursday named the chief executive of Schering-Plough Corp. (NYSE: SGP) to its board, according to Associated Press.

Fred Hassan, 63, has been Schering-Plough's CEO since 2003. Before that, he was CEO of Pharmacia Corp. until Pfizer Inc. (NYSE: PFE) bought the company in 2003.
Hassan also was CEO of Pharmacia's predecessor company, Pharmacia & Upjohn Inc., which merged with Monsanto Co. (NYSE: MON) in 2000. In addition, he has held various senior management jobs at drug companies earlier in his career.
Hassan is Time Warner's 12th board member.
