Acie Law IV scored a season high 31 points and handed out five assists and Joseph Jones dropped 22 points and grabbed 6 rebounds as the #8 Texas A&M Aggies (24-4) eased past the Baylor Bears (13-14) 97-87
The Aggies had built a nine point lead in the first half but the Bears were able to tim it down to three with just under three minutes remaining. Unfortunately for the Baylor, three would be as close as they would get to their Big 12 opponent. A&M closed out the first half with a 37-31 lead and began building on it in the second.
With nearly four minutes past in the second half the Bears found themselves down three once again but just couldn’t get over the hump to take the lead. The Aggies continued to shoot well and played tough defense, not allowing the Bears many second shots or easy buckets.
Texas A&M shot 56 percent from the field, including 8-15 from beyond the three-point line. Josh Carter was 4-4 from that distance and finished with 14 points and 6 assists.
The Aggies improved to 12-2 in the Big 12 and remain tied with the Kansas Jayhawks atop the conference. Baylor dropped to 3-11, just one game ahead of Colorado’s 2-12 record.
