The ballroom has a new champion. Country singer Kellie Pickler and her partner Derek Hough were crowned the winners of season 16 of Dancing with the Stars Tuesday night, beating Zendaya, Jacoby Jones and Aly Raisman for the mirror ball trophy.
"This is amazing!" a nearly speechless Pickler said after her win.
Zendaya said she was happy with her second place finish. "I'm very proud. I'm very happy,” she said. "I get to leave here with an amazing experience, so I'm happy."
"Out of all my trainers that I've had, I've never had a woman push me like she did," Jacoby, who finished third, said of his pro partner Karina Smirnoff.
After the show, Pickler spoke to Us Weekly magazine. "I'm overwhelmed with joy. I'm kind of speechless for the first time! Usually I can't be quiet! Usually I'm just spitting out words left and right, and now I don't know what to say,” she admitted.
“We've made so many memories out here on this dance floor and in the studio. We've all worked so hard to be her, and it's just overwhelming. But in a great way,” Pickler added.
