NBA Scores: Dirk Nowitzki Keeps Dallas Mavericks Rolling, Pound the Denver Nuggets
Dirk Nowitzki appears headed for his first league MVP Award after putting together another amazing performance to lead the Dallas Mavericks (46-9) to an easy 115-95 win over the Denver Nuggets (26-28).
Nowitzki finished with 31 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists as the Mavericks overcame a four point first quarter deficit and took charge in the second. By halftime it was the Mavericks with a four point advantage and on track for their big second half.
Josh Howard added 27 points and Jerry Stackhouse finished with 16 points and 6 assists.
Carmelo Anthony led the Nuggets with 34 points and 6 rebounds while Marcus Camby had 10 points and 17 rebounds.
The Mavericks won their eleventh straight game and are four games up on the Phoenix Suns in the Western Conference playoff standings.
