Denver Broncos Running Back Damien Nash Dies After Charity Basketball Game

Less than two months after Darrent Williams was shot and killed on New Years’ Eve, the Denver Broncos were struck by another tragic loss on Saturday. After playing in a charity basketball game benefiting heart transplant research, 24-year-old running back Damien Nash collapsed and died.

There was no immediate determination surrounding the cause of death.

Nash had participated in the game held in St. Louis to help raise funds for a foundation named after his older brother Darris Nash. Just last month Darris received a heart transplant.

Nash was drafted in 2005 by the Tennessee Titans and was signed as a free-agent by the Broncos last season. He played in three games last year, totaling 66 yards on the ground
