Detroit had a chance to go up four with 15 seconds remaining but Tayshaun Prince missed both his free-throws and Ben Gordon answered with the tying bucket on the other end. Billups looked to end the game on a 16-foot jump shot but it was Webber’s tip-in that put the Pistons ahead.
The Pistons won despite shooting just 37 percent from the floor. Richard Hamilton finished with 22 points while Webber added 21 and 9 rebounds. Billups finished the afternoon game with 15 points and 9 assists.
Ben Gordon led the Bulls with 21 points.
