Survivor Samoa Recap: Jaison Gives Up, Shambo Elected Leader

With Russell’s removal from the game, Galu was left with no leader for their tribe. The four guys got together and realizing they didn’t have the numbers to overpower the girls, decided to pull in Shambo by electing her leader. They held a tribe vote and Shambo is chief.

For the reward challenge, the tribes played a memory and matching game. There is 13 pair of survival items and four dummy items. The tribe who matches 7 items first wins the reward, which is an afternoon on a sailboat and a meal. The tribes have the option of keeping their matched items and forfeiting a point.

Galu is the first to score 7 points and wins reward. Shambo sends Laura to Foa Foa. Though she is mad at being sent, Laura strikes a secret deal with Russell. They agree to a secret alliance at the merge.

For the immunity challenge, each tribe rows out into the water and retrieves six sets of fish-shaped puzzle pieces. After collecting their puzzle pieces, they return to a puzzle station to solve it. Although Foa Foa is the first to understand the pattern, they can’t get the puzzle done fast enough because Jaison has given up. Galu wins immunity.

Back at Foa Foa’s camp, Russell contemplates sending Jaison packing because of his poor performance. At tribal council, everyone blindsides Liz and she is voted off.
