Amar’e Stoudemire is officially a dad of four. The New York Knicks forward welcomed a healthy baby boy this week with wife Alexis Welch. The baby’s birth was announced by Stoudemire on Twitter on Wednesday.
“We are proud to announce we added a healthy baby boy to the Stoudemire team,” he wrote. “Alexis and the baby are doing great. #Blessed”
No other details, including the baby’s name, were revealed. The baby joins brothers Ar’e, 7, and Amar’e Jr., 6, and sister Assata, 4.
Stoudemire announced Welch’s pregnancy in January, about a month after their marriage in New York. “We’re blessed that we were able to extend our family,” he told People magazine at the time. “We’re both huge on having a nice size family. It was something we’ve been talking about for a while. It happened naturally and at the right time so it all worked out.”
The pair, who has been together for 10 years, is currently planning a large summer wedding ceremony.
