The Philippines, still attempting to recover from three storms that have devastated the island over the past month, are desperately trying to prepare for the fourth as Typhoon Mirinae is expected to make landfall early Saturday morning.
Already suffering from massive flooding that destroyed farm land and left more than 100,000 people in evacuation centers, Typhoon Mirinae could add to that misery as it picks up strength. It is expected to hit just south of Manila and on Friday officials shutdown schools and grounded ferries in preparation.
According to forecasters the storm is due to hit the eastern province of Quezon and could cause flooding as the ground are already heavily saturated.
There have been more than 900 deaths attributed to the three previous storms.
