The Balancing Act and Chews-4-Health Introduce us to-- Nature’s Pharmacy

You are what you eat..

Have you ever really looked at some of the shapes that fruits and vegetables come in?  If you look close enough-- many resemble the organ in your body they are most likely to help. To help explain more on “Nature’s Pharmacy”-- The Balancing Act welcomes back to the show resident health expert, and founder of Chews-4-Health-- Dr. David Friedman!  Tune in to the Lifetime Channel on November 2nd at 7:30a.m. (EST/PST)

Without giving the whole show away, here are a few examples of some of the fruits and vegetables The Balancing Act and Dr. Friedman cover-- and their benefits.

Dr. Friedman says, “Let’s start with the carrot and tomato. If you look at a sliced carrot, it resembles the human eye, including the pupil and iris. Carrots are a rich source of vitamin A--which helps enhance vision and blood flow to the eyes.”

Dr. Friedman adds, “Next look inside a tomato. It’s red and has four chambers, just like a heart… and tomatoes are rich in lycopene which supports a healthy heart. Tomato juice looks like blood, and it can reduce the tendency toward blood clotting.”

You’ll have to tune in to find out what he compares figs to!  You don’t want to miss this show—it’s informative, creative, and full of healthy tips.

Dr. Friedman wraps up the show with his personal view on health care reform, “When people ask my opinion I tell them to look in the mirror because healthcare is about YOU taking care of your body. But many look to modern medicine for illness care.  I believe if you look to nature, especially to the foods we just highlighted-- you can achieve wellness care.”
