The #1 Florida Gators could take another step toward locking up the SEC East on Saturday but to do that they’ll have to knock off one of their biggest rivals in the Georgia Bulldogs. While the Gators inch closer to the SEC championship game the South Carolina Gamecocks look to keep their hopes alive with a win over the Tennessee Volunteers. In the SEC West the Auburn Tigers will be hosting the Mississippi Rebels who still have an outside shot at the West title but would need a minor miracle for that to happen.
It will be the #25 Mississippi Rebels (5-2, 2-2) traveling to take on the Auburn Tigers (5-3, 2-3) to get things started in SEC action. Mississippi is coming of a win over Arkansas while the Tigers suffered their third straight loss last week, falling to LSU. Kickoff is set for 12:21 p.m. ET.
The annual love affair that is the Florida Gators (7-0, 5-0) and Georgia Bulldogs (4-3, 3-2) will add another chapter on Saturday and with a win the Gators could inch closer to another SEC East title. Georgia is coming off a bye-week and are in desperate need of a big win while Florida is coming off a less than impressive win over Mississippi State. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. ET.
It has been a rough year for the Arkansas Razorbacks (3-4, 1-4) but they should pull even on the year on Saturday as they host Eastern Michigan in an out-of-conference battle. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. ET.
In a battle of SEC mediocrity the Kentucky Wildcats (4-3, 1-3) will be hosting the Mississippi State Bulldogs (3-5, 1-3). Kentucky is coming off back-to-back wins including a victory over Auburn while Miss. St. just missed a shot at upsetting the Florida Gators. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. ET.
The Vanderbilt Commodores (2-6, 0-5) have had a dismal year and it won’t get any better on Saturday as they host the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. Vandy has dropped four straight and their defense will have their hands full trying to contain the Georgia Tech running attack. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET.
What little hope the South Carolina Gamecocks (6-2, 3-2) have for an SEC East title will be on the line Saturday as they travel to face the Tennessee Volunteers (3-4, 1-3) The Gamecocks have been in every game this year and could easily be 7-1 while the Volunteers have also had a strong season with their four losses coming by a total of 20 points. Kickoff is set for 7:45 p.m. ET.
The LSU Tigers (6-1, 4-1) not only have SEC championship aspirations, they have national championship hopes as well and on Saturday they should add another win as they face Tulane in an out-of-conference showdown. LSU will be facing Alabama next week in a showdown that will likely determine the SEC West champion. Kickoff for Saturday’s game is set for 8:00 p.m. ET.
