The New York Police Department says an investigation has determined that Amanda Bynes was never sexually harassed or mistreated by the officer that arrested her last Thursday. The investigation by Internal Affairs was launched after the troubled actress claimed the officer “slapped” her vagina.
"Internal Affairs investigators have found no evidence to corroborate Ms. Bynes' allegations. To the contrary, a credible civilian witness who was with the officers throughout told investigators that none touched Ms. Bynes inappropriately or otherwise engaged in misconduct at any time,” the department said in a statement Tuesday.
Bynes launched a Twitter rant about her arrest on Saturday. "I was sexually harassed by one of the cops the night before last which is who then arrested me. He lied and said I threw a bong out the window when I opened the window for fresh air. Hilarious. He slapped my vagina. Sexual harassment. Big deal. I then called the cops on him. He handcuffed me, which I resisted, quite unlike any of the reports stated,” she wrote.
"Then I was sent to a mental hospital. Offensive. I kept asking for my lawyer but they wouldn't let me. The cops were creepy. The cop sexually harassed me, they found no pot on me or bong outside my window. That's why the judge let me go. Don't believe any reports,” Bynes added.
The 27-year-old was taken into custody for drug possession, reckless endangerment and tampering with evidence at her NYC apartment after personnel noticed her smoking weed in the lobby. Authorities say the actress threw a bong out of a 36th floor window when an officer arrived. She was taken to Roosevelt Hospital for a psychiatric evaluation before being booked.
