Angelina Jolie Misses Academy Awards for Goodwill Ambassador Role in Africa
Rather than spend Sunday evening at the Academy Awards Angelina Jolie touched down in Africa to continue her role as a United Nations Goodwill Ambassador.
Jolie left the father of her three children, Brad Pitt, in New Orleans so that she could visit refugee camps along the border of Chad and Sudan. Jolie has taken great efforts to bring the world’s attention to the humanitarian crisis that exists in the Darfur region of Sudan.
Jolie and Pitt have made great efforts to separate themselves from the Hollywood scene and raise their children in a normal manner. The absence of Pitt at the Academy Awards was rather obvious because he had a hand in two of the biggest films of the night.
Pitt starred in “Babel” which was nominated for a Best Picture Oscar and he was a co-producer on the night’s most successful film “The Departed.”
