Mackey Mind & Body Works to be featured on Close-Up Talk Radio

The process of traditional therapy doesn’t necessarily work for everyone, so it’s critical that mental health professionals can offer additional techniques to keep clients engaged and focused on resolving their issues.

Melinda Mackey is the founder of Mackey Mind & Body Works (http://www.melindamackey.com), a holistic therapy practice specializing in helping clients connect mind, body and spirit to heal the past, live the present and dream the future. A social worker for over 25 years, Mackey employs both traditional therapeutic approaches as well as complementary alternative therapies to help clients achieve personal growth.

“I like to partner with people to help get them where they need to be,” says Mackey. “I established my private practice so I could be more creative working with people toward healing.”

In addition to traditional therapy, Mackey also offers hypnotherapy, which can help clients improve concentration, reduce anxiety and even help manage physical pain. She also provides Reflexology and Reiki, an ancient healing method based on transformative energy.

“It’s another way to open the door,” says Mackey, “another way to help people move forward and dream their dreams. We all get out of balance from time to time when faced with life’s challenges, so we need to look at new ways to solve problems. It’s about taking the body’s entire experience and pulling it together.”

While counseling is generally for people working through a personal emotional problem, life coaching is more about getting people unstuck. Mackey Mind & Body Works also provides life coaching services for individuals who know what they want to do but haven’t been able to get there. According to Mackey, a partnership based on accountability can be remarkably effective in helping clients move forward in their lives.

“If you don’t recognize your values and your strengths, you’re not using them,” says Mackey. “Whether as a life coach or a counselor, I’m always trying to help you learn how to help yourself to get some positive momentum behind you.”

Close-Up Talk Radio will feature Melinda Mackey in an interview with Doug Llewelyn on June 3rd at 4pm EST.
