Kristen Bell has settled into motherhood nicely. Speaking to Ellen DeGeneres about her new daughter Lincoln, the actress admitted that caring for the 2-month-old has exceeded her expectations.
“It’s actually better than I expected. It’s pretty wonderful. It’s a lot of fun,” she said.
As for how fiancé Dax Shepard is handling fatherhood, Bell said, "It's like he's just made a new best friend. He just talks to her all the time. And sings to her all day. It's wonderful."
DeGeneres wanted to show a picture of Lincoln, but Bell refused. “Yeah, well were not quite positive that she wants to be a public figure yet so we’re going to leave that up to her. If she wants to she can do a bunch of selfies. Who cares? But we’re just going to make that decision for her,” she explained.
The couple stepped out with Lincoln for the first time on Thursday in Los Angeles. Shepard carried Lincoln in her car seat and kept her covered with a blanket.
Shepard, 38, and Bell, 32, got engaged in January 2010, but have said they will wait to marry until gay marriage is legal. “Dax and I have talked about it a lot, and this issue is very important to both of us. We’re just standing up for what we believe in. Period,” Bell explained of their decision to wait.
