Pakistani Forces Seize Control of Key Taliban Town in South Waziristan

The Pakistani army has won a major victory over Taliban militants, seizing control of the town Kaniguram in South Waziristan and completely clearing it of terrorists.

According to reports from the army Kaniguram had been cleared of mines and improvised explosive devices and more that a large cache of ammunition, arms and explosives had been recovered.

The mountainous region has been a popular spot for militants loyal to the Pakistani Taliban and its leader Hakimullah Mehsud.

Pakistan has spent the last month aggressively hunting Taliban militants and has vowed to clear the country of terrorists. The government recently announced they would deliver $600,000 to anyone who delivered Mehsud, dead or alive.
