2013 Model Fords Recalled For Fuel Leaks

Ford Motor Co. recalled nearly 500,000 new vehicles on Monday after receiving hundreds of complaints about fuel leaks in 2013 model cars. The carmaker said it had received 600 complaints about leaks by late March. There have been no injuries or accidents related to the problem.

"While a fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source may result in a fire, there have been no reports of fires (and) we are not aware of any accidents or injuries attributed to this condition,” the company said in a statement.

The recall involves 465,000 cars – 420,000 in the United States, Mexico and Canada, and 45,000 overseas. Recalled models include the 2013 Ford Explorer, Taurus, Flex, Fusion, Interceptor Utility and Interceptor Sedan, and the 2013 Lincoln MKS, MKT and MKZ.
