Varian Medical Systems, Inc. (NYSE:VAR)  rallied 5.37% to $43.18 on 2.57 million shares after it has a new agreement with Portugal’s Instituto Portugues Oncologia, IPO Porto, the state-run cancer hospital in Portugal supplying them with new radiosurgery and radiotherapy capabilities and signing a new eight-year service contract. Alpha Pro Tech, Ltd. (AMEX:APT) jumped 10.35% to end the day`s trade at $6.61 on a massive volume of 1.38 million shares. The stock made an intraday high of $6.78 and an intraday low of $6.20 respectively.  Alpha Pro Tech, Ltd. (Alpha Pro Tech) is in the business of protecting people, products and environments. The Company accomplishes this by developing, manufacturing and marketing a line of disposable protective apparel and infection control products for the cleanroom, industrial, pharmaceutical, medical and dental markets.

Natus Medical, Inc. (NASDAQ:BABY)  was also among the active movers as it increased 7.50% and closed at $14.93 on over 1.07 million shares after today announced financial results for the three and nine months ended September 30, 2009. For the third quarter ended September 30, 2009, Natus reported revenue of $44.3 million, compared to $41.7 million reported in the comparable quarter of the previous year. Net income was $3.7 million, or $0.13 per diluted share, for the third quarter of 2009, compared with net income of $4.8 million, or $0.17 per diluted share, for the third quarter of 2008.For the nine months ended September 30, 2009, the Company reported net income of $6.8 million, or $0.24 per diluted share, compared to net income of $11.2 million, or $0.43 per diluted share, for the comparable period in 2008.
