Paris Jackson, teen daughter of the late Michael Jackson, is recovering in a Los Angeles hospital after an apparent suicide attempt early Wednesday morning at her family’s Calabasas home. The Los Angeles County Fire Department confirms they transported one person from the home to a nearby hospital for a possible drug overdose. The 911 call came in at 1:27 a.m.
Family sources say Paris, 15, was angry about being forbidden to go to a Marilyn Manson concert on June 6. Her estranged mother, Debbie Rowe, told ET that Paris has had “a lot going on [lately]” and slit her wrists early this morning. Paris’ grandmother and guardian Katherine Jackson insists that Paris is “physically fine.”
"Being a sensitive 15 year old is difficult no matter who you are. It is especially difficult when you lose the person closest to you. Paris is physically fine and is getting appropriate medical attention. Please respect her privacy and the family's privacy,” she said in a statement Wednesday afternoon.
No other details about the teen’s condition were immediately available.
Paris’ last tweet before her hospitalization indicates problems. She wrote this line from the Beatles song ‘Yesterday,’ "Yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away now it looks as though they're here to stay.”
Paris and her siblings Prince and Blanket must face the fourth anniversary of their father’s death on June 25.
