LeBron James scored 35 points and handed out 8 assists as the Cleveland Cavaliers (33-24) beat the NO/Oklahoma City Hornets (27-30) 97-89.
While James was an impressive 14-22 from the field, it was the Cavaliers ability to bury the three-ball that pushed them past the Hornets. Cleveland out-scored the Hornets 24-3 from beyond the arc, hitting 50 percent of their attempts compared to 11 percent for New Orleans.
The Hornets had trailed by as many as 15 in the game but were able to tie the score at 83 after David West hit a jumper with four minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. Cleveland responded with a triple from Larry Hughes to reclaim the lead and a basket down low from James to push the lead to five.
Cleveland hit four of their eight three-pointers in the final four minutes of the game.
West led the Hornets with 25 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists while Tyson Chandler finished with 14 points and 10 boards.
