As Paris Jackson remains hospitalized in Los Angeles, new details about her suicide attempt have emerged. According to reports, the 15-year-old prepared a suicide note and then tried to overdose on “20 Motrin” early Wednesday morning. A source claims that she also cut herself with a knife. Apparently “freaked out” by her actions, Paris called out for help.
"I know Paris freaked out and regretted what she had done after she had done it," an insider tells Us Weekly magazine. "That's when she cried for help. That saved her life."
Another source tells Us Weekly Paris has battled depression ever since her father Michael Jackson died in June 2009. "She has major depression issues, a lot of it stemming from her dad's death. It's very real and very sad. She has been extremely depressed and not been able to sleep lately, staying up all night,” the source explains.
Yesterday, the teen’s grandmother and guardian Katherine Jackson insisted that Paris is “physically fine.” "Being a sensitive 15 year old is difficult no matter who you are. It is especially difficult when you lose the person closest to you. Paris is physically fine and is getting appropriate medical attention. Please respect her privacy and the family's privacy,” Katherine said in a statement.
Michael Jackson died of a drug overdose on June 25, 2009. In addition Paris, he left behind sons Prince Michael, 16, and Blanket, 11.
