Dierks Bentley shared some special news with concert-goers on Monday – the gender of his baby-to-be with wife Cassidy. Before the show, fans were greeted at the door with a video message from Bentley. The singer asked for them to guess the baby’s gender and give name suggestions on a piece of paper.
“You guys mean everything to us and that’s why we’re always trying to give you guys the fan club exclusive. And for today for the Last Call Ball 9 we thought it would be kind of funny to give you the scoop on whether or not I’m having a boy or girl,” Bentley says in the clip.
"A lot of great choices for us to choose from," the 37-year-old later joked of name suggestions.
"We're having a boy!” Bentley revealed. “Just don't tell anybody, alright?"
Bentley announced Cassidy’s pregnancy in April. The baby will join sisters Evelyn, 4, and Jordan, 2.
The country singer, who is currently on the Locked and Re-Loaded Tour with Miranda Lambert, Lee Brice and Thomas Rhett, recently opened up to reporters about becoming a father again.
“It seems like yesterday I was single and on the road playing bars and now I’m here, and I have a wife and two kids and a third one on the way. It’s just—life’s crazy like that,” he said. “So, in a lot of ways, it changes everything, but luckily I’m still here doing what I do and probably appreciate it now more than ever.”
“A friend of mine said having three kids is like having a thousand, and I’m kind of starting to see how that’s probably gonna be true ’cause it’s already pretty crazy with two,” he added. “But yeah, we’re pretty excited.”
