Maxine Stuart, a soap actress who appeared on The Edge of Night and The Young and the Restless, died last week at her Beverly Hills home. Stuart’s daughter confirms the 94-year-old died of natural causes. No other details on her death were immediately available.
In addition to her work on The Young and the Restless and The Edge of Night, Stuart made numerous guest appearances on popular TV shows like Peyton Place, NYPD Blue, Chicago Hope, The Wonder Years, The Donna Reed Show and The Pursuit of Happiness. Her film credits include The Prisoner of Second Avenue, Fun with Dick and Jane, Making It and Days of Wine and Roses.
Stuart wed actor Frank Maxwell in 1949. They divorced in 1963. Eleven years later, Stuart tied the knot with writer David Shaw. Shaw died in 2007.
Stuart is survived by her daughter, Chris Ann Maxwell, from her marriage to Frank.
