Anna Nicole Smith will finally be laid to rest in the Bahamas on Friday, three-weeks after she died in a Florida hotel.
The memorial service for the former Playboy Playmate and reality TV star will be “over the top” according to close friend Patrik Simpson. The guest list is expected to include 300 friends and family members of Smith and the service is to include a well-known singer who will perform.
Anna Nicole will be dressed in a custom designed gown by Pol Atteu.
Since the death of Anna Nicole Smith, 39, the location of where she should be buried has been argued in court. A highly publicized hearing in Florida led to Judge Larry Seidlin ruling that the court-appointed advocate for Smith’s five-month old daughter, Danninelynn, decide. Richard Milstein declared Smith would be buried next to her son, Daniel, in the Bahamas.
Shortly after Seidlin’s ruling, Virgie Arthur, Smith’s mother, appealed the decision and put the burial of her daughter in doubt once again. Arthur wanted her daughter buried in Texas and refused to accept that Anna Nicole wanted to be buried in the Bahamas.
On Wednesday a Florida appeals court upheld Seidlin’s ruling and rather than appeal that decision Arthur let it go, paving the way for Milstein to declare Friday as her burial date.
While the memorial service is expected to draw over 300 guests, the burial is believed to be limited to about 30.
