As Kim Kardashian remains hospitalized in Los Angeles with her newborn daughter, new details about the early delivery have emerged. People magazine reports medical problems prompted doctors to have Kardashian give birth 5 weeks before her due date. The complications did not require an emergency c-section.
"She was admitted with medical complications and her doctor made the decision that her baby needed to be delivered. Kim had a natural birth. If Kim would have had very serious complications, her doctor would have decided to do an emergency c-section instead,” an insider tells People.
The baby reportedly weighed in at a little less than 5 lbs., but is healthy. Kardashian, 32, and boyfriend Kanye West, 36, haven’t decided on a name yet. "Kim is being very protective of the baby and she says there is no official name,” a source says.
On Sunday, Kardashian’s close friend Jonathan Cheban told People that the reality star is “glowing.” "Kim is doing amazing and couldn't be happier. I'm so thrilled for her and Kanye,” he said. "Kim was glowing.”
Kardashian matriarch Kris Jenner said the entire family is “extremely happy and thrilled for the new baby.” “She’s doing great and she’s beautiful! So very exciting,” she told HLN.
