The New York Yankees captured their 27th World Series title on Wednesday evening and the city will honor the team on Friday with a ticker-tape parade beginning at 11:00 a.m. ET.
Shortly after Mariano Rivera induced a ground ball out from Philadelphia Phillies center fielder Shane Victorino to clinch the World Series title in six games NYC mayor Michael Bloomberg announced plans for the parade.
It is scheduled to start at Broadway and Battery Place and move through the Canyon of Heroes to Chambers Street. The team will then be presented keys to the city by Bloomberg during a ceremony at City Hall Plaza.
