Cautionary Information Age Parable Released by iPredator

A cautionary Information Age parable has been released, at no cost, to download by iPredator Inc. Michael Nuccitelli Psy.D., C.F.C., a New York State licensed psychologist, certified forensic consultant and author of the Information Age Forensics construct, iPredator, has made available a parable about the character, Evil, who has written a letter thanking humanity for creating a destructive and deceptive cyberspace opening a portal for his return.

Online sexual predation, cyberstalking, cyberbullying and pathological cyber deception are all Information Age social issues that are rapidly expanding and causing harm to millions of online users. Although Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and the internet are young in age, the nefarious and malevolent elements seeking to victimize the innocent are avid enthusiasts. It is easy to recognize the many benefits information technology provides, but the detriments and pain caused to online victims continues, with reckless abandonment, and no known end in sight.

Michael Nuccitelli Psy.D., C.F.C., a New York State licensed psychologist, certified forensic consultant and author of the Information Age Forensics construct, iPredator, has made available, at no cost, his parable titled, “I am iPredator: A Letter to Information Age Humanity.” The short story is a parable about the character, Evil (aka iPredator), who has written a letter thanking humanity for creating a destructive and deceptive cyberspace, causing a portal to open in cyberspace, allowing for his return.

As stated by Dr. Nuccitelli, “My short story “I am iPredator” is a parable not to be taken literally. I’m hoping it will someday encourage humanity to think about their “disconnected” online behavior and begin practicing decency and respect towards others. Cyberspace and ICT are inventions of elegance and should not be treated as a disposable commodity. If we don’t work to make cyberspace a safe environment, the children of the future are in grave danger.”

Dr. Nuccitelli enjoys and fully supports the advancement and growth of Information and Communications Technology (ICT.) What he does not approve of is the use and abuse of ICT to victimize, disparage and steal from others. It is for this reason that “I am iPredator” was written hoping to alert humanity to the destructive trajectory starting to accelerate.

The parable, as well as all iPredator Inc. products and services are formatted using the iPredator construct. The iPredator definition is as follows and the webpage link to read, print or PDF download, requiring no personal information, is provided here: “I am iPredator: A Letter to Information Age Humanity”

iPredator: A child, adult, group or nation who, directly or indirectly, engages in exploitation, victimization, stalking, theft or disparagement of others using Information and Communications Technology (ICT.) iPredators are driven by deviant fantasies, desires for power and control, retribution, religious fanaticism, political reprisal, psychiatric illness, perceptual distortions, peer acceptance or personal and financial gain. iPredators can be any age, either gender and not bound by economic status, race or national heritage.

iPredator is a global term used to distinguish anyone who engages in criminal, deviant or abusive behaviors using Information and Communications Technology (ICT.) Central to the construct is the premise that Information Age criminals, deviants and violent disturbed are psychopathological classifications new to humanity.

Whether the offender is a cyberbully, cyberstalker, cyber harasser, cyber criminal, online sexual predator, internet troll, cyber terrorist or engaged in nefarious cyber deception, they fall within the scope of iPredator. The three criteria used to define an iPredator include:

I. A self-awareness of causing harm to others, directly or indirectly, using ICT. II. The intermittent to frequent usage of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) to obtain, exchange and deliver harmful information. III. A general understanding of Cyberstealth used to engage in criminal or deviant activities or to profile, identify, locate, stalk and engage a target.

Unlike human predators prior to the Information Age, iPredators rely on the multitude of benefits offered by Information and Communications Technology (ICT.) These assistances include exchange of information over long distances, rapidity of information exchanged and the seemingly infinite access to data available. Malevolent in intent, iPredators rely on their capacity to deceive others using ICT in the abstract and artificial electronic universe known as cyberspace.
