4 Found Dead In Arizona Desert Likely Immigrants

Arizona authorities are trying to determine if four men found dead in the desert near Gila Bend on Thursday were immigrants entering the United States illegally. Foul play was not immediately suspected in the deaths. U.S. Customs and Border Protection spokesman Victor Brabble said it appears heat exposure is most likely the cause of death.

"It is probable that they are immigrants attempting to cross into the U.S. However, we don't have enough to draw a conclusion on it now,” Brabble said.

The Arizona Daily Star reports border Patrol agents discovered three of the bodies together near Interstate 8 about 70 miles north of the Mexico border. One of the bodies had been stripped naked and was hidden under brush. The fourth body was found about a mile away from the others.

The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office said Mexican identification was found on two of the men. Their names have not been released. The other two men have not been identified.
