Desiree Hartsock and her Bachelors left the United States behind and headed to Europe this week. The group made their first stop in Munich, Germany. The dates included a one-on-one, a group and the first two-on-one date of the season.
The one-on-one date goes to Chris. Since it’s her first time in Europe, Desiree decides they will spend the day exploring Munich armed with a phrase book and money. Back at the hotel, Bryden reveals he plans to leave because he just isn’t feeling it with Des. He decides to find her and tell her immediately. Meanwhile, Des and Chris are having fun sampling local food, trying on German outfits and taking pictures. Bryden eventually finds them dancing in a nearby square. He interrupts the dance and requests a private talk with Des. He tells her that he is going to leave because he is not “100 percent” sure about their relationship. Des returns to Chris in tears, but insists that she won’t let Bryden’s departure affect their date. They end the day on a good note with Chris reading Des a poem he wrote for her. Chris receives the date rose.
The group date goes to Juan Pablo, James, Kasey, Zak, Brooks, Drew and Mikey T. They meet Desiree at the base of the highest peak in Germany. They enjoy a day of sledding and snowball fights. They later visit a giant igloo where Des gets one-on-one time with the guys. While Des talks to James, the guys slam him as two-faced and cocky. Des gives the date rose to Brooks.
The dreaded two-on-one date goes to Ben and Michael. Michael feels pressure to expose Ben as a fraud. The trio spends some time talking awkwardly talking outside before Des suggests doing the polar bear plunge in a nearby like. Just before they are about to jump in the water Des reveals they won’t be doing the plunge, but will spend some time in a hot tub boat. The situation gets more awkward in the boat because Michael relentlessly questions Ben about his son and his relationship with the child’s mother. At dinner later Michael calls Ben out on not getting along with the other guys. He continues attacking Ben and eventually Ben excuses himself at the table. Desiree is not happy about Michael’s actions, but she determines that Ben should go home because he can’t get along with the guys.
Back at the hotel, the guys talk about how James was overheard telling Mikey they can hang out with rich and beautiful women in Chicago after the show. James also allegedly said he hopes to become the next Bachelor. The guys plan to expose James before the rose ceremony, but Des decides to skip the cocktail party and go right into the ceremony. She sends Mikey packing.
