Oxygen Education to Present Manufacturing Education Session at ITEC 2009

Session identifies benefits of using online courses to address the challenges of workforce education.

Oxygen Education, LLC, a market leading developer of digital content for technical education and workforce development, today announced it will present a breakout session at the Illinois Technology Education Conference (ITEC) 2009 in November in Peoria, Illinois. The presentation will showcase Oxygen Education’s online advanced manufacturing education curriculum that is being used to train thousands of workers to succeed in the 21st century workforce.

Oxygen’s “Online Advanced Manufacturing Education for the 21st Century” session will be presented Friday, November 13, 1:45 to 2:35 p.m. The session will: 

  •  Present an alternative to conventional methods of preparing student for skills-based jobs.  
  • Identify the benefits of using online courses to address the challenges of workforce education.
  • Demonstrate Oxygen Education’s interactive, competency-based content for technical education and workforce development.

Oxygen Education’s online course library for advanced manufacturing education provides courses in twelve content areas: Advanced Manufacturing, Blueprints & Drawings, CNC, Lean Manufacturing, Materials, Math, Metrology, Personal Development, Production, Quality Systems, Safety, and Tooling. ITEC is the annual conference of the Technology Education Association of Illinois. The two-day conference brings together teachers from across the State of Illinois from middle school through university levels to discuss and learn about technology education. ITEC 2009 is being held November 13 and 14, 2009 at the Holiday Inn City Center in Peoria, Illinois.
