NBA Scores: Houston Rockets Cruise Past the Denver Nuggets
Tracy McGrady scored 28 points, dished out 7 assists and grabbed 6 rebounds while Dikembe Mutombo pulled down 22 boards to lead the Houston Rockets (36-22) past the Denver Nuggets (28-29) 108-97.
Mutombo’s 22 boards made him the oldest player in history to grab more than 20 rebounds in an NBA game and helped the Rockets win the battle of the glass 51-40.
Houston led by five at the break and then came out shooting in the third to open up an 18 point lead by the end of the third. Shane Battier finished with 15 points for the Rockets on 5 of 6 shooting from beyond the three-point arc.
Carmelo Anthony led Denver with 30 points in the loss.
