Mike Bibby scored 33 points and handed out 7 assists while Kevin Martin added 20 points as the Sacramento Kings (26-32) beat the Los Angeles Lakers (33-26) 116-108.
The Kings scored 65 points in the first half to establish a 17 point lead at the break and the Lakers were never able to overcome the big deficit. A large part of Sacramento’s first half dominance came from pounding the ball down low and driving to the paint. As a result the Kings went to the free-throw line 24 times compared to the Lakers who managed to get to the line just four times.
Los Angeles was able to cut the large Sacramento lead to 11 in the third but the Kings answered with a 14-4 run to put the game away.
Kobe Bryant finished with 30 points and 10 assists in the Lakers loss.
