Jon Brockman scored 20 points and grabbed 13 rebounds while Spencer Hawes added 13 points and pulled down 15 boards as the Washington Huskies (18-12) upset the #2 UCLA Bruins (26-4) 61-51.
The Huskies were able to hold the Bruins scoreless the last 5:21 of the first half and limited the Bruins to a season low 20 points heading into the locker room.
Down by 11 at the break, the Bruins were able to cut their deficit to five in the first three minutes of the second half but the Huskies went on a 13-2 run to regain control of the game. UCLA then staged a 19-4 run and cut the Huskies’ lead to 52-51 with just under three minutes remaining in the game.
That was as close as the Bruins could get as they missed their final five shots from the field.
