The following companies all rose by noon in trading:
Barrick Gold (NYSE: ABX) rose $1.04, or 2.6 percent, to $41.75.
Gold Fields (NYSE: GFI) rose 27 cents, or 2.0 percent, to $13.97.
Goldcorp (NYSE: GG) rose 78 cents, or 1.9 percent, to $41.22.
Newmont Mining (NYSE: NEM) rose $1.77, or 3.7 percent, to $49.02.
