“Kenny Mayne’s Wider World of Sports” explores sports that are among the most important and unique to the people of various countries around the world. Mayne has traveled to Brazil, New Zealand, South Africa and now will make his way to Florence, Ky., for the ACO World Championships of Cornhole VIII held at Turfway Park from July 17-20, 2013.
“We’re very excited to have Kenny Mayne and Wider World Of Sports part of the ACO World Championships of Cornhole,” said Frank Geers, Founder and President of the ACO. “It’s amazing exposure for the sport we and so many others love.”
In addition to covering the event, Mayne will attempt to earn a spot in the 64-person King of Cornhole tournament and compete for the title of the best cornhole player in the world, the ACO King of Cornhole. His chase for the crown will start in the Open Singles tournament on Thursday, July 18th.
“The journey started with a Cincinnati television show back in 2006 and now we’re talking about ESPN’s Kenny Mayne’s Wider World of Sports. Obviously, this is very exciting,” said Matt Gray, Founder of the King of Cornhole and VP of TV/Media Development for the ACO. “But more importantly, I feel this show will be an incredible opportunity for others to share their passion for cornhole.”
The ACO World Championships of Cornhole VIII is free for all spectators and anyone may participate. Tournament tickets are available at
