Is nursing a lesser profession?
Think again!
One of the most important decisions every boy or girl need to take in the early days of their youth, at the time of completing the schooling or college, as the case may be, is related to their choice of career or profession.
What is your preferred choice for profession? If you ask this question to any boy or girl, the answer you might get is unfortunately not nursing in the first instance. Some might want to become engineers, some prefer pilots, some others prefer to try the computers, and some might aspire to excel in sports.
Why nursing is not considered a worthy profession? Is it because it is relatively lesser paid job? Is it because there is no fixed time and you might be required to spend long hours, and some times even odd hours, in the work?
Nursing is not a lesser paid job anymore in this world. Nursing, which is part of the health care industry, is an evergreen profession. Yes. Nursing is the only profession in which the actual requirements of the nurses in the industry can never be fulfilled. The demand for nurses and their service to the health care industry are on the rise and can never be adequately met or fulfilled.
A qualified and talented Registered Nurse or a Certified Nursing Assistant, working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, commands a minimum annual salary of $30,000. The upper range might be much higher depending upon the area of specialization and the experience that goes with this profession. The pay is not less by any means. There is no fear of recession or job loss in this profession, because the demand for nurses far outstrips the actual available resources.
In this fast-paced and advanced world, the need for nurses has not been felt only in the hospitals or dispensaries anymore. Taking care of old people, disabled people, infants, and such other people otherwise challenged by nature, at their houses or in community homes has been on the rise.
The increasing population of baby boomers, or people surviving in the world for a longer period, is posing a serious challenge to the healthcare industry. In other words, thanks to the advancement of the medical technology and the increasing awareness of health consciousness among the people, the life expectancy rates has increased by more than 10 years in developed countries.
In a way, nursing is not a mere profession The ideal candidate for nursing profession is the women, while there is no objection for men taking up this job as well. Every man or woman is by nature a nurse. The tender care she takes in bringing up a child, taking care of the other members in the family and also other people when faced with any illness is the testimony for her nursing capabilities.
The primary requirements for the profession of nursing are not money or any other special quality. You should be compassionate, take pride in extending a helping hand to the needy people, and strive for the betterment and healthy living of the other person. In simple terms, if you love the world and want to serve the humanity with passion, then nursing is the ideal job, where you will not only get a job without much difficulty, earn a good amount of money, be assured of a job for a life-time, and also learn more and gain expertise in the healthcare industry.
